Being a Mentor
- Get to know the person, their family, friends, and interests (movies, sports, food, travel, etc.)
- Ensure it’s a two-way conversation
- provide an opportunity to ask you questions / or even challenge you
- You can also learn from the mentee
- Always be available for your mentee (outside of structured sessions)
- Have fun, and don’t make it too structured
- Empathy is the key
